Those first few days with your baby are a blur of love, wonder, and sleepless nights and they pass far too quickly.
As a London newborn photographer, I capture this precious chapter with simple, timeless images that reflect the real beauty of your baby and the connection you share as a family.
Your newborn session is calm and unhurried, designed entirely around your baby’s rhythm.
No fancy props or distractions, just gentle, authentic moments that celebrate your baby’s natural perfection.
Every photograph tells a story of love, trust, and tenderness.
My aim isn’t just to create beautiful images, but to give you an experience that feels peaceful and memorable.
One you’ll look back on with the same warmth as the photographs themselves.
"Watching you keep her calm and happy was as soothing for me as it was for her.
I started using those movements at home, giving me some confidence where I had none before.
It helped us get some extra hours of sleep too. I wasn’t expecting that from a photo shoot."

The best time for your newborn session is within the first two weeks after birth, when babies are still tiny, sleepy, and naturally curl up in those beautiful newborn poses.
As a London newborn photographer, I always encourage parents to book during pregnancy, ideally around the start of the third trimester. This ensures your session is reserved, and we’ll simply adjust the date once your baby arrives, no rush, no stress, just flexibility.
If your baby is already here and those first two weeks have passed, don’t worry. I regularly photograph newborns up to six weeks old, every stage has its own kind of beauty, whether your little one is peacefully asleep or wide-eyed and curious.
You can read more about the best timing for baby photos in my blog post What’s the Best Age to Photograph Babies?
Newborn sessions take place in my calm Twickenham studio, a space designed to feel like home, with soft natural light and neutral tones. I create a relaxed atmosphere where you can simply sit back and enjoy the moment while I gently guide the flow.
Whether your baby needs feeding, cuddling, or a quick nappy change, there’s never any rush. My approach is baby-led, and I photograph everything from those sleepy stretches to the quiet, tender looks you share as parents.
Every photo tells your story, real, emotional, and filled with love.

Each image you see here tells a story of love, connection, and new beginnings.
As a London newborn photographer, my style is simple, timeless, and focused entirely on your baby and the bond you share as a family.
Every session is unique and special, no props, no distractions, just genuine emotion and natural light bringing your story to life.
Here’s a glimpse into some of the beautiful newborn moments I’ve had the privilege to capture in my Twickenham studio.
Ready to learn how I create these peaceful, love-filled portraits?
Here’s what to expect from your newborn session.

My newborn shoots are entirely baby-led, which means your little one sets the pace. I never rush, and I always follow their lead to ensure they’re calm and comfortable throughout.
On average, sessions last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us plenty of time for cuddles, feeds, and soothing moments in between photos. There’s no pressure or strict schedule, just a relaxed space where you and your baby can settle in and enjoy the experience.
I believe in creating a relaxed, unhurried environment where your baby's comfort and well-being always come first.
Are Parents and Siblings Included?
Absolutely! I always encourage parents to be part of the session. These are your first family photos together, and they will be incredibly meaningful for you and your baby in years to come.
I completely understand that many new mums don’t always feel their best in those first few weeks, but I promise you, every mum I photograph is so grateful they stepped in front of the camera. You’ll never regret having these moments captured. If you’d like a little reassurance, I’ve written a post about why mums should be in their newborn photos , it might give you the gentle nudge you need.
Siblings are very welcome too! If they need a break, they can relax or play in the garden or with the toys I have in the studio, it’s all part of keeping things relaxed and natural.

Do you have Props?
I believe in the beauty of simplicity. My signature style is unadorned, focusing on your baby's pure essence.
I do have a selection of simple props, like soft wraps, tiny outfits, and blankets. But I avoid elaborate props like oversized hats or baskets and flowers. If that’s the look you’re after, I might not be the best fit as your London newborn photographer, and that’s okay.
I work with neutral tones, creamy whites to highlight purity and rich blacks to evoke the warmth and protection of the womb.
For me, “less is more” isn’t just a phrase, it’s my philosophy. If you’re drawn to a natural, minimalist approach, I’d love to create something special for you.
What should I Wear?
I always recommend keeping outfits simple and timeless for your newborn session.
Neutral colours like white, cream, grey, oatmeal, and soft pastels work beautifully. They complement your baby without distracting from the main focus: the connection between you and your little one.
Once you’ve booked, I’ll send you my Newborn Experience Guide with plenty of advice on what to wear and how to prepare. In the meantime, you can explore my blog post: Picture-Perfect Outfits: Tips on What to Wear for your Newborn Shoot

Where is your Studio Located?
All newborn sessions take place in my cosy garden studio in Twickenham, 10 minutes drive from Richmond, south-west London.
I’ve created a serene and calming space, designed for new parents to relax while I gently photograph your baby. I like to call it my “happy white space.” Everything is soft, neutral, and filled with natural light, so you instantly feel calm and at ease as soon as you walk in.
Curious about the space? You can view more photos of my Twickenham studio page.
"We recently visited Valentina for a newborn photoshoot with our third baby, having previously used her services for our two sons.
Each time she welcomed us warmly, made us feel at ease, created a fun and relaxing atmosphere and produced the most beautiful suite of photographs we could have hoped for.
Truly a keepsake and a wonderful way to capture those precious moments forever.
We would highly recommend a photoshoot with Valentina, she is very talented at working with small children and always manages to get the best out of everyone."

Newborn sessions with siblings, especially toddlers, can be unpredictable.
Some days they are all in. Other days they aren’t. And that’s okay.
This big sister wasn’t very keen on being in the photos. So instead of forcing it, I gave her a different role.
She became my assistant.
She helped me photograph her baby brother and her parents.
Suddenly, she felt special. She was part of the process. And Mum still got the beautiful family photos she wanted.
I find that involving toddlers and giving them a job to do works magic.
It shifts their energy from resistance to collaboration.
Everyone feels seen. Everyone gets their moment.
This is what 15 years of experience looks like. Knowing when to adapt. Knowing how to make it work for every member of the family.
If you’re expecting a second baby and worried about how your toddler will handle a newborn session, don’t be.
We’ll find a way to include them that feels right for everyone.

Through motherhood, we go through job titles quicker than in an entire career
I personally went from
Mamma → Mummy → Mum → Vale…
and now I’m just Bruh or Buddy. 🙈
They grow up fast and one day they won’t even want to be in the photo!
So let’s make the most of these Mummy years!

In a world where photos live on phones and get lost in folders, I still believe in printing.
Not because I’m nostalgic or old (which, by the way, I’m not 😉). But because there’s something irreplaceable about holding a photograph in your hands.
About seeing your story displayed in your home.
About your child one day finding an album and understanding that they were cherished from the very beginning.
Your baby won’t remember the newborn days. Memory fades. But a printed image? It lasts.
It tells your child: You were wanted. You were celebrated. Your story mattered.
I recently wrote a piece for @healthy_parent about the psychological side of seeing family photos displayed at home, how it strengthens a child’s self-esteem and sense of belonging.
Because in a world where everything is AI, fake and filtered, we need more realness.
I create maternity and newborn photographs that are meant to be more than files on a hard drive.
They’re meant to become part of your home, your legacy, your family’s story.
When you invest in printed portraits, you’re not just buying photos, you’re saying yes to legacy.
You’re choosing to preserve love in a way that can be touched, held, and passed down.
That’s what sets my work apart. Not the props or the trends, but the belief that your moments deserve to be honoured, printed, and treasured forever.
If you’ve been wondering whether maternity or newborn photography is worth it, I hope this resonates with you.
Your story deserves to be seen and held.
Because the moments you choose to print today will become the masterpieces your family treasures tomorrow.

This is what happens when you book a newborn session with me.
You come to my studio. Maybe you’re tired. Maybe you’re overwhelmed. Maybe you’re wondering if this is worth it. Maybe all of the above!
You arrive, I welcome you in, offer you tea, and we slow down.
I guide you gently through everything, so you can just be present with your baby.
I capture the tiny details. The yawns. The way your family looks at this new little person. The love that’s already there.
And then picture this! A few weeks later, something arrives at your door.
Not just digital files. Not just photos on a screen.
But a beautiful album, designed for you, ready to hold and show your child one day.
That’s the difference between a photo session and what I create.
It’s not just about capturing moments. It’s about preserving them in a way that lasts.
Your newborn days are fleeting.
But this? This stays forever.

I know what you’re thinking. “I’m not ready.” “I “don’t have anything to wear. “I’ve got phone photos already.”
I hear this often, and I understand. But here’s what I’ve learned after photographing hundreds of pregnancies: the bump photos you almost didn’t take are the ones you’ll wish you had.
Phone photos are lovely for tracking changes.
They’re practical, quick, real.
But maternity photography is different.
It’s not about documenting the bump.
It’s about capturing how this moment feels.
The tenderness. The anticipation. The strength of your body preparing for everything to change.
When you walk into my studio, there’s no pressure to look a certain way or feel a certain way.
We move slowly.
We breathe.
We create something that’s entirely yours.
Simple. Real. Timeless.
These images aren’t meant to live on your phone or hidden in a folder.
They’re meant to be printed, displayed, and one day held by your child as they learn the beginning of their own story.
If you’ve been thinking about a maternity shoot but haven’t taken the step, let this be your sign.
Your future self will thank you.
If you’d like to chat about your maternity session, DM me or click the link in my bio. I’m here to answer any questions and help you feel confident about this.
Your story deserves to be seen.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and I want to say this gently: you don’t have to have it all together to be worthy of care, love, or rest.
Motherhood, creativity, business. They all carry invisible weights sometimes.
It’s okay to set them down for a moment.
It’s okay to just be.
There’s real courage in that stillness.
PS. If this resonates, you might find comfort in my book Milk Tales. A collection of stories about the emotional side of motherhood, and the courage it takes to be honest about how we really feel.
